Hallo 👋! If you have played a bit with my mini chat, you will know by now that my name is Timo and that I am passionate about building all kinds of digital products. If you are still not bored by all of that info about me, you can continue reading and learn more about my life in the next few paragraphs. If you ARE bored, I'd recommend you to read a good book or something from my blog.
After finishing my B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering (business and IT) at the Technical University of Berlin, I changed subjects and started studying Computer Science for my master's degree (same Uni). I received a scholarship to study at the UC Berkeley in California, but ultimately decided to give it up and start my own company - Joidy - with some friends.
We were inexperienced but passionate, did countless mistakes, but kept on going and ultimately found our way through the rollercoaster ride of entrepreneurship. After 3,5 years we decided to sell the business to our biggest competitor. It was a decision against the path that we had started on, but looking back now, I can say that it was the right thing to do.
Before starting my own company, I had already worked on several digital projects. Summing it all up, I have built and worked on a variety of products in the past 10 years:
- native mobile Apps for iOS and Android that have been featured several times in the App- and Playstore
- Software as a Service solutions for B2B
- different kind of Webapps for both B2B and B2C
- E-Commerce stores (mainly Magento) with > 25 Mio. visitors per year
- Facebook Games (back in the days, when these canvas games were still a thing)
- all kinds of websites and landingpages for friends and artists to help kickstart their projects
I am very concerned with the big challenges that we, as a human species are facing: Mainly climate change, social inequality, better education systems. If you have a project in one of these fields and need help or advice on making your idea big, please contact me. I am happy to help!
