I still remember the first time that I was asked to build a Landingpage for a Business. It was more than 10 years ago, and the ~16 year old me was just getting started in building things online. The mother of a very good friend and classmate was running a successful consulting business and wanted to collect feedback for a seminar through a simple form. The whole thing had to be branded in her clients CI. The client was SONY and even though I barely knew how to code, I somehow assembled something that looked alright and that ended up doing the job (it was a very simple, black and white themed page - I wonder how I would look at it now...)
Looking at this younger version of mine makes me laugh for 2 reasons. 1) because I had absolutely no idea what I was actually doing. I was just googling, trying, failing, over and over again. But I did not stop until I had it figured out. 2) because it reminds me, that even though I am so much more experienced now and tackling challenges that are far beyond of what I was capable of doing back then, I still discover myself in similar situations when I am learning new things. It is still the persistence that lets me grow and that often makes the difference. And it is still that feeling of mastering it, seeing your product being used, that pays back for all the effort. 🥳
